Top 10 Tips for College Admissions/Scholarship Interviews

  1. Prepare using your BRAG sheet so that you can best represent yourself.
  2. Research the school and programs offered beforehand.
  3. Dress as professionally and neat as possible.
  4. Have a "dress rehearsal" 5 days ahead.
  5. Bring a nice-looking notebook and pen to write notes.
  6. Prepare intelligent questions for your interviewer about the school/scholarship.
  7. Map the directions ahead of time and arrive slightly early.
  8. This is your interview NOT your parent's. Leave them in the waiting area.
  9. Be sure to demonstrate your passion/energy about the school/scholarship.
  10. Write and send BOTH and email and snail mail letter thanking each interviewer. (You may want to ask for a business card from the person if you don't already have their contact information.)
